Today we will talk a bit about Chinese Cupping methods.

Chinese Medicine Practitioners have been doing Cupping Therapy since ancient times by using heat inside glass or bamboo cups.
At Tree of Life Acupuncture clinic, we use suction cups to create vacuum and make them stick to the surface of the body in order to keep continues therapeutic effect.

The vacuum inside the cups causes the blood to come to the surface and that is the mechanism of healing. Cupping therapy can leave temporary circular, hickey type marks. Which is the evidence of toxins being released from the tissue. To read more please click on the link below.   http://www.newyorkacupuncturecenter.com/cupping_therapy_nyc.html

A little bit about Winter and Kidneys
According to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine philosophy Winter is associated with the Kidneys.

Kidneys also control the lower back and the knees, so often lack of Kidney  energy may be responsible for back pain or weakness in the lower back  and the knees. Any bone pain or bone disorder in Chinese Medicine may be viewed as a Kidney imbalance, since kidneys also control bones and dominate skeletal and brain development.
