Chinese Medicine Beef Soup
BENEFITS of BEEF  ( CHICKEN) SOUP.


As I was sitting and taking pictures of my (very rarely eaten beef soup) I was thinking, this can not be too healthy, red meat...

But then I remembered yes it can benefits our health and make us feel less guilty.

Vegetarian friends can use bean and tofu soup (having organic beef or beef bones, chicken or pork is better. You do need to cook bones preferably for 4-5 hours.)


This  can benefit your VITALITY by Tonifying your Qi, Spleen and Stomach. It can also help with anemia and general weakness. It cal also strengthen tendons.  This kind of soup can also help you after a chronic illness,  during or after pregnancy etc.

Tonify Kidneys, and Spleen

 Beef, Soy Bean Soup


Beef bones with some meat on it.
1 Handful of dry soy beans
2 Slices of ginger
1 Spring onion chopped

Benefits: Tonifies Kidneys, Liver, Qi and Blood.
Very beneficial for cold weather - Winter. 

I personally am vegetarian in the Summer, Spring and as the weather gets colder I start adding a bit of meat 1 to 2 x a week and even if I eat Chicken Duck etc. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and juice a lot too (fruits and vegetables ) with Green and Pomegranate tea Garlic etc.

As I was squeezing lime juice into my glass of water, and started to cook Quinoa, I decided to write about the benefits of those two and remind ourselves to eat better and healthier.

Limes have many health benefits.
Limes came from India. Limes are grown in abundance in Florida and California. 


Limes can protect against colds
They have a lot of vitamin C. Some people and Mayo clinic believe vitamin C may reduce duration of colds and prevent its spread.
 Few studies suggest antibiotic properties.

Prevents Cancer. 
Some studies show that flavonoids can prevent cancer and limes have it.

Lime Juice prevents formation of Kidney Stones. 
Long term studies indicate that drinking 120ml of lemon or lime juice can prevent kidney stones.

Maintain Digestive Health
Sour tasting juice can stimulate digestion. 

Help Detox Liver. 
According to Chinese Medicine sour taste has to to with the liver.  Also color Green is the color associated with the Liver and the Gall Bladder.
Health Benefits of Quinoa.
Quinoa is actually a seed pronounced "keen-wa".













In Chinese Medicine Quinoa is can tonify Qi (vital energy).

Can also tonify Yin and Yang 
It is a high quality protein and has 9 amino acids. Has more protein than rice and millet or wheat.

Good source of riboflavin, which in studies was shown to help reduce migraines.

Improves energetic metabolism in the brain and muscles  cells.

Saponins in quinoa promote skin healing.
Used for that in South America.

Gluten Free, because it is not related to wheat or grain.

Anti-inflammatory.  Many animal tests suggest that it is an anti-inflammatory food. There are many other health benefits to this superfood. So why not cook some today.

Acupuncture for stress reduction
Acupuncture can treat stress, anxiety, insomnia and even depression. So here is tip on how to do acupressure on yourself.  Nothing can ruin your day, health or Life like stress. We all know and have been there. Stress can be a single contributing factor in major emotional, mental and physical problems. Additionally it can seriously damage your health in not properly handled.




We do not always know when stress comes, but we can deal with it when it arrives. There is an acupuncture point called P6 on the acupuncture pericardium channel. It is often used for stress, insomnia and anxiety. It will not substitute a regular acupuncture cession, but it may provide a relief in stressful times. This point has a connection to the Heart, Stomach and the Liver, so pressing on it may give you some peace.



Point location: Look at inside of your palm, then about 1.5 inches above the inner crease of your wrist in the middle between 2 tendons. Press with your thumb and hold for 30 seconds with 10 seconds interval and repeat 3 times. Click here for more videos on stress reduction



Breathing for stress reduction
Best thing to do when you're stressed is to focus on the belly button area (acupuncture point called either Ren 6 or Dan Tien about 2 inches directly below your belly button and between your spine and stomach). Breath is the connection between your body and your mind. 

So by breathing into this point consciously and regulating your breath will regulate your body and your mind. You should become aware of your breath and if thoughts come to mind, you go back to breathing. Breathing should be through the nose not the mouth, comfortable and natural. The only thing that is needed is breath awareness.
