In Chinese Medicine kidneys control the brain and the heart houses the Spirit.  Worry is attributed to the spleen and anger has to do with the liver and last, but not least sadness is the emotion of the Lungs.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can balance your body's vital energy and restore your mind and body to proper balance.

I recently came back from vacation.  While relaxing and being stress free, I was thinking of how I could take parts of this state of mind and maintain in my daily  routine. And here is what I came up with and want to share with you.

1. Start your day with a little exercise routine 3-15 min (depending on your time availability before work day. Few Yoga postures or breathing exercises www.Yoga. few sets of push ups or sit ups and a bit of stretching or whatever gets you going.)

2.  Take a walk near the ocean, beach or park (Central Park, Prospect Park, Brighton Beach etc.) daily or weekly. If you have no time before work, you can do the walk after work or on days off.

3. Have a good meal and eat it in a calm and relaxing environment.   DO not eat your lunch at your desk. Leave your desk and go eat outside ( near the park, invite a friend for lunch)

4. Do 1 good unselfish thing for yourself and your partner or best friend every day.

5. Let someone else do something for your well being or peace of mind.  (Massage, Acupuncture etc.) Meet a friend or talk to someone who puts you at ease or makes you laugh.

In 6 days that I was away, I gave myself about 4 acupuncture sessions for prevention, relaxation and longevity and turned my stay into a SPA like experience. (Did consider massage, but last two experiences made me opt out for acupuncture).

As many of you know, acupuncture can treat and prevent stressful conditions and reduce wear and tear on your body and mind and spirit. What you don't know or don't do is the best time for acupuncture is when you have no problems and come to maintain your body in optimum shape. (Usually for prevention 1 to 2 x month will do).
