Acupuncturists and Chinese Medicine Practitioners have over 2,000 acupuncture points to choose from on the body. That can create an infinite number of treatment combinations. Ear acupuncture has about 365 points to choose from.  Acupuncture points on the ear as well as the body can be stimulated with acupuncture needles or heat or acupoints can also be bled to release stagnant energy and help reduce the pain in the low back, neck or anywhere else in the body.

An ear is a microcosm in reference to the body and through ear acupuncture, other parts of the body and organs can be affected just like in reflexology.

In the first picture to your left, you can see organ and body parts referenced. In the second picture, you can see the ear resembling the human fetus and looks like a kidney, it's because kidneys in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine control the ears (also the brain and reproduction).

In the 3rd picture, you can see the face and the skull imaged in the earlobe.  Because the ear is so close to the brain addiction disorders like food, smoking drugs etc can be effectively addressed through the ear acupuncture just with a few needles.

Some time ago I used to work at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City doing a lof of ear acupuncture, working with heroin addicts.  I observed that within minutes anxiety, sweating and acute cravings along with pains were often relieved. A lot of acupuncturists use ear points to supplement their treatments.

Be well,
