The heart is the most important organ in our body.

The heart organ plays a more important role in the summer than other seasons, in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, it's a seasonal organ.

The heart houses the "spirit" in Asian medicine, one can think of it as peace of mind or mental health. Many people may experience restless sleep due to a restless mind.

Heart and Your Immune System

Poor sleep due to mental stress may lead to the weakening of the immune system so much needed during covid and delta variant times.

The heart communicates with the immune system and the rest of the body through cytokines, hormones, and neurotransmitters.

If someone experiences worsening of conditions in the summer it could be related to the circulatory and cardiac systems of the body.

Foods red in color are good for the heart.
Tomatoes, wild salmon, goji berries, beets, red beans, watermelon, and goji berries.

Some of the heart condition manifestations
Insomnia, heart palpitations, tachycardia, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure.

Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, and Bioresonance therapy can balance many conditions to health including the cardiac system and its related organs with the immune system.

Laughter is the emotion associated with the heart.

I sometimes observe people in my acupuncture clinic in NYC laughing kind of inappropriately during acupuncture sessions.

I think of laughter as the body's way sometimes of clearing trapped energy and/or blockages. I always think of the heart's emotion of laughter.
Laughter is the best medicine, they say and your laughter could reveal your spirits also.

Interesting heart facts
* A woman's heart is smaller than a man's and beats faster to compensate for a smaller size.
* The average heart is the size of an adult fist.
* Your heart beats about 115,000 times each day.
* Your heart pumps about 2,000 gallons of blood.
* Athletes' heart beats much slower than an average person's due to more heart muscle.
* An average heart weighs about 300-350 grams less than one pound)
I hope that you all stay well,

Spring in NYC is beautiful. In Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Springtime is associated with the liver and gallbladder organs.

At Tree of Life Acupuncture clinic, we offer a number of holistic, natural therapies to help your liver, health and immune system, see links below.
The human liver can regenerate itself from as little as 25% of tissue. The liver is the Yin organ and the gallbladder is its paired Yang organ.

Anger is the emotion associated with the liver and an unbalanced liver can be a source of high blood pressure, insomnia, heart problems, reproductive problems, PMS and fertility in women, headaches/ migraines, body toxicity, allergies depression, and anxiety.  The liver element is wood and the heart is fire. Anger/ wood causes fire/ heart to overwork and creates organ stressors.

The liver and gallbladder open into the eyes and often affect the eyesight. They also affect the nails. Brittle nails could be a sign of poor liver function or deficiency of the blood. Pink nails and tongue indicate healthy liver and smooth flow of energy in the body.

THINGS BAD for the LIVER.
Alcohol, anger, stress, greasy, fried foods, drugs, toxins (food, environmental).

Be well,
