Summer is around the corner and with warmer weather we all want to look good on the beach and in summer clothes.  So it is a good time to get in shape, adjust your diet and exercise routine.

My lunch, all organic from home.

Our body is about 70% water. Water can boil or freeze.  So as the weather gets warmer our bodies get warmer, we should eat cooler foods in hot weather.  It means more fruits (possibly less sweet fruits) and vegetables and less meat and chicken. (meats have warm energy and generally much harder to digest).  Lighten up on dinner. Make dinner portions smaller or even divide it into 2 smaller portions.

Acupuncture can help weight loss by reducing food cravings: sweets, salty and adjust and expedite metabolism, in addition to regular problems like: stress, anxiety and pains.  Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can help detox your body and optimize digestion for better absorption and reduce or eliminate abdominal discomfort. If you are planning an exercise program and experience aches or pains or just want a quicker work out recovery, then acupuncture can restore and rejuvenate your body as well.

1. Avoid greasy or fried foods. Eat less meat and more
fruits(avoid eating too much sweet fruit, substitute red apples for green etc.) and vegetables, especially
green once.

2. Eat smaller portions with healthy snacks in between (apple, carrot, smoothie, nuts etc.)

3. Have a glass of water before and after meals, this

helps fill the stomach and reduce hunger and cravings

4. Have reasonable daily and weekly exercise routine to burn calories and stay in shape
5. Replace your dinner with a smoothie or fruit or cut it half !

6. Reduce Stress (Sports, Acupuncture, Yoga, Breathing etc.)

All good stuff
If you're looking to lose substantial amount of weight or even just to energize your body, replace your dinner with a vegetable smoothie.  Include seeds and nuts in your diets as a food supplement or meat replacement.  Have small healthy snacks (grapefruit, blueberries, nuts etc.) Drink green tea or a glass of water before in between or after each meal to fill the stomach and reduce caloric intake. Exercise:  Most of us are very busy, but all of us can find 3 to 10 min a day to exercise. So before you leave for work (as most of us are either tired or have other engagements after work).  You can do a quick 3-6min kettlebell  (see pic on left) work out or spend 6-10 min doing the following:

1.   60 second warm up
Do light stretches or breathing exercise or walking vigorously around the room

2.  Do Sit ups:
1 to 3 sets.  Rest between sets up to 30 seconds depending on your fitness level.

Do 1st set do sitting down moderately then rest.
then do 2nd set sitting going lower and staying 3-6 seconds
3rd set you can sit even deeper.

3. Floor Push Ups:
do 1 to 3 sets with intensity growing towards the 3rd set.

4. Warm down:
After you're done, do deep breathing and a few stretches.

This simple daily routine will keep you fit and energized.
