Chinese Medicine can help numerous disorders. Thyroid imbalance is one of them.  Some experts believe that as many as  27 to 59 million Americans have a thyroid problem.
About  80% of thyroid disease falls on women and women are five times more likely to develop hypothyroidism (an under-active thyroid) than are men. Close to eight out of ten thyroid disease cases (80%) are hypothyroid conditions with the other two out of ten (20%) being hyperthyroid.

The Risk During and After Pregnancy
Because pregnancy uses so many resources in the body, there is an increase of developing hypothyroidism, with approximately 2% of pregnant women experiencing low functioning thyroid.
Following pregnancy, women are at higher risk for developing postpartum hypothyroidism (one in six) which can develop as much as one-year after giving birth. Up to 25% of these postpartum cases will require lifelong treatment. ACUPUNCTURE, CHINESE HERBS, HOMEOPATHY and YOGA is
a natural alternative to drugs.

How can acupuncture help?
Both Western and Eastern medicine offer various methods to restore thyroid hormone levels. Western treatments rely mainly on drugs and surgery (drugs cause side effects and do you really want to go under the knife ?) while Eastern treatments aim to restore immune function naturally, as well as balance the production and release of thyroid hormones through a variety of approaches ranging from Acupuncture, Herbal remedies and Yoga to lifestyle changes and special exercises.

Acupuncture can offer powerful points to balance the endocrine system and reduce stress.  Points in the ear and on the head offer tranquility and balance to the mind which in turn regulates the whole endocrine system and puts your mind at  ease. Acupuncture can balance your emotions and enhance the sleeping patterns and regulate the menstrual cycle.

Chinese Herbs can strengthen and regulate internal organs and hormonal levels and work deep from within regulating your Kidneys, Heart, Liver and the endocrine system.
Thyroid gland hormone regulates metabolism, energetic levels in your body, weight loss or gain and   it can greatly effect the function of your Kidneys and many other emotional and mental factors in your life.

Improperly functioning thyroid can be a cause of: Infertility, Weight Gain or Loss, Fatigue or Anxiety, Heart Problems and many other ailments.

  2. I have an underactive thyroid and when I was first diagosed wanted to try anything to relieve the symptoms, along with taking thyroxine medication. I went along to a Chinese Herbalist, spent a lot of money and came home with some herbal remedies to take. The remedies tasted and smelt so bad they went in the bin. I would however try acupuncture !
