Spring is almost here in New York City and in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine it' a liver and gallbladder energy.

The human liver can regenerate itself from as little as 25% of tissue. The liver is the Yin organ and the Gall Bladder is its paired Yang organ. Acupuncturists and Chinese Medicine practitioners will be using the liver and gallbladder energy to balance their patients' bodies.

Anger is the emotion for the liver and an unbalanced liver can be a source of high blood pressure, heart problems, infertility especially in women,  headaches/migraines, body toxicity, allergies,  depression and anxiety
The liver element is wood and the heart is fire. So a lot of anger/wood causes fire/heart to overwork and creates organ stressors.

Liver and Gall Bladder open into the eyes and often affect the eyesight, as well as nails. Brittle nails could be a sign of poor liver function or insufficiency of the blood. Pink nails and tongue indicate healthy liver and smooth flow of energy in the body.

The good news is that the liver can regenerate itself and acupuncture with Chinese Herbs and Bioresonance therapy with Homeopathy and proper diet as well as exercises like Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong can help balance the organs to harmony.
Spring acupuncture in New York City

Spring in NYC, is the best season of the year and New Yorkers are really happy in the Spring weather.

I noticed that some people are either angrier or more irritable in the Spring, perhaps it's that anger element associated with the liver. Also in big industrial cities like New York, busy high pace life can cause additional strain on people's irritability and anger.

The wood element of the liver in acupuncture is prominent in the spring as everything blooms and causes extra load on the liver to process airborne allergens. Watery red itchy eyes are also signs of the liver imbalance as liver opens into the eyes.

THINGS BAD for the LIVER.
Alcohol, anger, stress, greasy, fried foods, drugs, toxins (food, environmental).

THINGS GOOD for the LIVER.
In Acupuncture green color is for the liver
Sour tasting or green foods, because the taste for the liver is sour and the color is green. So green apples, lemon or lime, avocados, green peppers all work.

Stagnant energy makes us depressed so the Spring gives the liver a "kick" to go and "move it, move it". We feel rejuvenated and young when the energy is properly circulating in the body nourishing organs and the mind.

Liver spreads the energy (Qi) in the body and that is why we are all so alive and well when the Springtime comes, we must be moving our energy around through sports or any other physical activities and keep our emotions positive.

Be well,
