In Chinese Medicine and acupuncture  craving for sweets is related to the Spleen and Stomach. Too much sugar or sweets lead to dampness, sluggishness and inability to of your digestive tract to absorb and process food efficiently and may result in weight gain.

Certain acupuncture points can reduce sugar cravings and optimize metabolism for better digestion. I would recommend to substitute sweets for fruits.   Bananas (when ripe) are sweet, pineapple, apples, mangoes. If you noticed most of the fruits I suggested are yellow because yellow is the color for Spleen and Stomach.

    Thanks for this informative post. I gave up sugar and got rid of my mood swings as a result. It's funny that most people don't realize that sugar is actually a poison. While it's impossible to totally get rid of it in our diets, we all can do something small to ensure we take a little bit less sugar with each passing day.
